34 SCRI Brand Identity Guidelines 3.0 2026 Table of Contents The Beam 2.4 When creating the Beam as a graphic for composition, start on the short side of the canvas and divide into one, three, or five equal sections. The sections define the size of the circle element of the Beam. The amount of sections are driven by the content and visual impact desired. The Beam runs along the long side of the canvas. To determine the length of the Beam, create a template of circles abutting one another starting at one end of the document. Lines added at each circle's edge and center represent the half circle increments that define the length of the Beam. When creating a Beam from the opposite side, use the same template process. It's ok that templates might not meet perfectly but make sure to leave ample space between so it doesn't look obviously mismatched.
