Closed captions are text displays
of spoken dialogue and sound
effects that ensure video content
is accessible to all viewers.
Captions not only serve the deaf
and hard-of-hearing community
but also benefit viewers who
process information better
through text, those watching
in noisy environments, and
non-native English speakers
seeking to better understand
complex medical concepts.
Captions should use Arial at a
minimum size of 18 pt. and a
high color contrast ratio between
the text and background. This is
typically achieved through white
text on a semi-transparent black
background.
